Playoff Hockey Heats Up

Stars vs Oilers

Connor McDavid had a goal and an assist while Stuart Skinner made 34 saves to help the Edmonton Oilers defeat the Dallas Stars 3-1 in Game 5 of the Western Conference Final. The Oilers now lead the series 3-2 and can clinch a berth in the Stanley Cup Final with a win in Game 6 on Saturday night.

Devils vs Oilers

Connor McDavid and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins each tallied a goal and assist in the Edmonton Oilers 6-3 road win over the New Jersey Devils. The Oilers improve to 9-1-0 in their last 10 games and now sit atop the NHL standings with a 51-21-8 record. The Devils, meanwhile, fall to 33-34-14 and are now in danger of missing the playoffs.

Wild vs Panthers

Aleksander Barkov scored the game-winning goal and notched an assist and Sergei Bobrovsky made 32 saves to lead the Florida Panthers to a 4-2 win over the Minnesota Wild. The Panthers improve to 49-24-8 and now lead the Wild by three points in the race for the Presidents Trophy. The Wild, meanwhile, fall to 46-26-8 and are now in danger of losing home-ice advantage in the first round of the playoffs.

The Oilers had lots of big offensive performances in Game 4, with Connor McDavid leading the way with a goal and two assists. Leon Draisaitl also had a goal and an assist, while Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Evan Bouchard each had two assists. The Oilers now have a 3-1 series lead and can clinch a berth in the Stanley Cup Final with a win in Game 5 on Thursday night.
